Site Design

Any regular visitors will have seen three different designs of this site, evolving as time has gone by into better things. What you won't have seen though is the many other designs that I have been through to find one that I like.

I've lost count of the number of designs that I have worked on for this site, some have made it to a more advanced stage than others, some have even made it up onto my server, but for one reason or another they haven't been made live. I've used several different systems to develop these sites as well, in an attempt to make this site easier to update I have tried several blogs and CMS systems including: Drupal, WordPress, Joomla and TextPattern. My WordPress design probably was the most developed of all of them, similar in design to the site you see before you now, it just didn't feel right and was eventually abandoned.

I decided that I needed a new approach to the site, so instead of using a pre made CMS or blog I thought why not develop my own, and I did. The very first version of my own CMS is what I use to update this site, (and what might be responsible for something that has gone wrong). The CMS system has been in development for around 8 weeks at the time of writing, and is still worked on today.

I should really give you a screenshot of my CMS here, and I'll do that ASAP, but for now just be content with knowing that just about all the content on the site is generated using the CMS, and is much, much easier for me to update.
